Nancy Thompson Obituary

Nancy Lee Thompson, age 83, resident of Broken Arrow, OK, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, March 2, 2024, at the Village Health Care Center in Broken Arrow, OK. She was born on February 23, 1941, in Santa Rosa, CA to Archie Jack and Evelyn (Lane) Blevins. Nancy's life was a testament to her enduring love for her family and her unwavering spirit of generosity.

Nancy's early years were spent in the vibrant community of Santa Rosa, but she would eventually call Oklahoma her home. A proud graduate of Catoosa High School in 1959, she carried the lessons of her youth throughout her life. Nancy's work ethic was evident to all who knew her, as she dedicated many years to her role as an assembler at Memorex/Telex before retiring. Not one to remain idle, she continued to serve her community as a cashier at Wal-Mart for an additional 12 years.

On October 20, 1962, Nancy married the love of her life, Ronald Ray Thompson, and together they built a family grounded in love and mutual respect. Her world revolved around her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, whom she adored and cared for with all her heart. Nancy's kitchen was often filled with the aroma of her cooking, a clear sign of the joy she found in feeding and nurturing those she loved.

Nancy's life was enriched by her interests and the simple pleasures she found in everyday moments. She had a natural talent for cooking, a passion for taking care of her grandkids, and a deep-seated desire to care for people. Her family and grandchildren were the center of her universe, and she left an indelible mark on each of their lives.

She is survived by a loving and devoted family, including her son, Leslie Thompson and his wife Jada of Collinsville, OK; her daughter, Diana Smith and her husband Jacky of Broken Arrow, OK; her seven grandchildren, Tiffany Thompson, Whitney VanMeter and her husband Allen, Daniel Rosenthal and his wife Jessica, Lance Thompson and his wife Celia, Cassidy O'Keefe and her husband Josh, Elizabeth Thompson, and Nathaniel Thompson; and her 14 great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Nancy also leaves behind her brother, James Blevins of Coweta, OK; her sisters, Brenda Lehenbauer of Oklahoma City, OK, and Connie McElwain and her husband David of Tulsa, OK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will cherish her memory.

Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Ronald Ray Thompson; her parents, Archie Jack and Evelyn Blevins; her son, Ronald Ray Thompson, Jr.; and her siblings, Winona Land, Cecil Blevins, Ronnie Blevins, Lena Darby, Mary McDaris, John Blevins, David Blevins, and Judy Catlett.
