Andy Joe Hellinger

November 29, 1940 — May 6, 2025

Coweta

Andy Joe Hellinger, age 84, resident of Coweta, passed away peacefully at his home in Coweta, OK, on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. He was born on November 29, 1940, in Langley, OK to Andrew John and Katie Evelyn (McClure) Hellinger. Andy's life was marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and a love for the simple joys of life.

Andy attended Wagoner Schools in Wagoner, OK. In 1959, he began a distinguished career in the United States Air Force, rising to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. His service spanned 27 years, during which he demonstrated unwavering commitment to his nation until his retirement in 1986. Following his military career, Andy's entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and operate A&J Printing in Anchorage, Alaska, where he continued to apply the discipline and leadership skills he had honed in the Air Force.

On March 22, 1963, Andy married the love of his life, Ruthann Foster, in Tulsa, OK. Their union was blessed with love, laughter, and the gift of three children, who in turn filled their lives with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Andy's love for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and he took great pride in their accomplishments.

Andy is survived by his devoted wife, Ruthann Hellinger of Coweta, OK; his children, Jeffrey Hellinger of Springtown, TX, Joanna Lynn Hellinger of Coweta, OK, and Tracy Ocampo of Sacramento, CA; his cherished grandchildren, Bobby, DeAnna, and Evonne Hellinger; and his adored great-grandchildren, Asher Morgan, Cynthia Hellinger-Sanford, and Heather Coats. He also leaves behind his brother, Dale Hellinger of Wagoner, OK; his sister, Cyrena (Hellinger) Kitzmiller and husband of Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will miss his guidance and warmth.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Andrew John and Katie Evelyn Hellinger, and his siblings, Robert Lee Hellinger, Connie Greathouse, Mary Nell Hellinger, Linda Kay Dintzner, and Anthony Leon Hellinger.

Andy's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. He found pleasure in tinkering with anything that needed fixing, riding his tractor across the fields, and meticulously mowing and landscaping his property. His barn was a sanctuary where he could work with his hands and create. Above all, Andy loved spending time with his grandchildren, whose visits would light up his world.

Andy's legacy is one of love, service, and commitment. His life's journey was a testament to the values he held dear, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
