Ann Cowles

July 27, 1946 — January 26, 2026

Coweta

LaDonie Ann (Collins) Cowles, age 79, of Coweta, Oklahoma passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, at her home.

Ann was born on July 27, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Vester and Alma “Bernice” (Vernon) Collins and little sister to Carolyn and Sharon. She attended Coweta Public Schools where she developed lifelong friendships and met her husband, Jerry Don Cowles, Sr.

On February 10, 1962, Ann and Jerry married. Over the next 63 years, they made their home in Coweta and had three children, Jerry Don (Jr.), Brett and Michelle. A woman with grit and work ethic, Ann found purpose in providing for her family. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, “Granny Annie”, could be found at the soccer field, softball field, basketball gym or band competition/performance sitting in the stands supporting and encouraging, attending parades, graduations and birthdays, she was so proud of them all.

Stopping by the house, you would inevitably smell a pot of beans cooking. Hosting cookouts and wiener roasts, having her family around, put a smile on her face. She always enjoyed a good garage or estate sale. Throughout the years you could also find her on the track walking or in an aerobics class, on lunch dates with the “Over the Hill Gang”, and spending time with her longtime friend Lenora. Ann was known for her love of animals, especially her multiple cats. For decades her family could be heard giving her a hard time for line drying her clothes, trying to convince her to get a dryer, she preferred the former.

Ann is survived by her children: Jerry Don Cowles (Jr) and wife Teresa of Coweta, OK, Brett Cowles and wife Kimberly of Conway, AR, Michelle Meadows and husband Greg of Coweta, OK; Grandchildren: Magen Hilton and husband Brian of Coweta, OK, Lacey Rogers and husband Jared of Owasso, OK, Colton Cowles and wife Sarah, Chelsea Houston and husband Talon, Cassidy Boehringer and husband Bo, all of Conway, AR, Jacob Meadows of Coweta, OK, Madelyn Childers and husband Jacob of Broken Arrow, OK, Hannah Meadows, Justin Meadows, both of Coweta, OK; Great-Grandchildren: Collins Hilton, Cooper Hilton, Holden Rogers, Streeter Hilton, Anderson Rogers, Brock Cowles, Tate Houston, Beckham Childers, Isla Childers; Nieces and nephews: Melinda (Cherry) Taylor & husband Harold of Fayetteville, AR, Curtis Cherry & wife Becky of Coweta, OK, Kimberly (Cherry) Meek & husband Larry of New Caney, TX, and Judd Cherry of Broken Arrow, OK; and numerous great-nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.
