Barbara Jean Webster

Barbara Jean Webster, age 81, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, entered her heavenly home on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Barbara was born on March 15, 1945, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Carl Martin Holcomb and Bessie Elizabeth (Sisney) Denton. She attended Broken Arrow Schools and spent her life sharing her God-given gift of music with everyone around her.

Barbara was a faithful member of Dawson Free Will Baptist Church, where she served as pianist for many years. Music was the heartbeat of her life. A gifted pianist who played almost entirely by ear, she blessed countless church services, gospel singings, nursing homes, restaurants, and community gatherings with her talent. She played at Jesse's Restaurant in Tulsa, accompanied the John Chick Show, performed with John Collier and the Oklahoma Rangers, and played with several other bands throughout the years. She also enjoyed teaching piano lessons, helping others discover the joy of music.

Throughout her working years, Barbara worked at Lake Construction alongside her first husband, Roy Gene Lake. She later worked for John Zink and owned and operated a book store along with her husband, Chester called Book Affair. While she was dedicated in every position she held, Barbara was best known for sharing her God-given musical talent, bringing joy to countless people through her piano.

Barbara had a warm and welcoming spirit that drew people to her. Whether playing hymns in church, entertaining at local venues, or visiting nursing homes to brighten someone's day with music, she found happiness in bringing smiles to others. Her love for music was only surpassed by her love for her family, whom she cherished deeply.

She is survived by her granddaughters, Stormi Wilkins of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Shailyn Lake of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her grandson Mikey Hamilton of Tulsa Oklahoma; her great-grandchildren, Alexander Lake, Selena Wilkins, Miguel Wilkins, Stormi Palizada Wilkins, José Palizada Wilkins, and Pamela Palizada Wilkins; her sister, Joyce Cypert and husband Bill of Coweta, Oklahoma; her brother, Martin Holcomb and wife Jeannie of Warrington, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chester Webster; her parents, Carl Martin Holcomb and Bessie Elizabeth Denton; her children, Jerry Lake, Pam Wilkins, and Sherri Hamilton; her grandson, Jeremy Lake; and her sisters, Janelle Lytle, Carolyn Broadaway, and Brenda McPeak.

Barbara will be remembered for the beautiful music she gave so freely, her servant's heart, and the countless lives she touched through her faith, kindness, and extraordinary talent. Though the piano keys have fallen silent on earth, the melody of her life will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Brown's Funeral Service in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Dawson Free Will Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma with Pastor Bill Phillips officiating.
