Dean Edwin Siler, age 92, resident of Tulsa, OK, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. He was born on February 15, 1932, in Tulsa, OK to Ilus Hugh and Blanche Margaret (Wrangle) Siler. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Dean grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1950. His thirst for knowledge and commitment to service led him to the University of Tulsa where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and completed the ROTC program in 1955. It was during these formative years that he met the love of his life, Carol Joan Woods. The two were united in marriage in 1956, embarking on a journey of love and companionship that would span 68 years.

After his graduation, Dean served his country with honor as an Air Force pilot, stationed in France until 1960 and received the rank of Captain. Upon returning to Tulsa, he transitioned to a career as an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration, a role he held for 30 years. His dedication to ensuring the safety of countless passengers demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the well-being of others.

In retirement, Dean found joy in working at the garden center at Walmart, sharing his passion for plants and the outdoors. He was a man who found pleasure in life's simple moments, always ready with a warm smile and a helping hand.

Dean's zest for life extended to his love of traveling, playing golf, and tennis. His adventurous spirit and competitive nature were infectious, and he cherished the opportunity to explore new places and take on new challenges. These interests provided countless cherished memories for Dean and his family.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Ilus and Blanche Siler, and his brother, Hugh Siler. His memory will be lovingly carried on by his wife, Carol Siler, and their four children, Susanne Miller and husband Mitchell, Dianne Sanderson, Michael Siler and wife Judy, and Marianne Siler. Dean was also a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

Dean's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to live on through the stories told, the lessons learned, and the love he shared. His life was well-lived, and he will be deeply missed.
