Donald “Don” Jess Moreton, age 84, of Coweta, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, May 17, 2026, at Porta Caeli House in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Don was born on November 3, 1941, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Jess Sylvester Moreton and Betty Elizabeth (Skidmore) Moreton. He was raised in Tulsa and attended Turley Cherokee School before graduating from Central High School in Tulsa. Throughout his life, Don was known as a hardworking man who was never afraid of long hours or getting his hands dirty.

Shortly after high school, Don married Judye Haas, and together they had two daughters, Kelly and Shannon.

On October 20, 2000, Don married Susie Jane Bain, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Together they built a life centered around faith, family, and the simple joys of life.

Over the years, Don worked in several trades and industries. He spent 30 years working as a mechanic and owned and operated Don’s Garage in Broken Arrow for many years. He also spent 10 years with American Airlines, worked as a truck driver for a time, and enjoyed ranching throughout his life. His dedication and strong work ethic carried through every chapter of his life.

Don was a proud cowboy at heart and attended Cowboy Up Cowboy Church in Ramona, Oklahoma. He had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed rebuilding antique tractors, hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling. He also enjoyed attending rodeos and could often be found working on projects or tinkering in the garage.

More than anything, Don loved his family. He cherished the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Moreton of Coweta, Oklahoma; his daughters, Kelly E. Huddleston and husband Roger of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Shannon K.
