Obituary

Dwayne Allen David, age 63, of Coweta, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at his home in Coweta, Oklahoma.

Dwayne was born on August 15, 1963, in El Campo, Texas, to Clifford Leslie “C.L.” David and Marjorie Ellen (Reed) Fox. He graduated from Granite High School and went on to build a career doing something that came naturally to him—working with his hands.

Dwayne was a talented mechanic and spent many years working in the automotive industry. He worked for Patriot Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Tulsa and South Pointe Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Tulsa. His mechanical ability extended far beyond his work. Dwayne loved building race cars and, even more, loved racing them. If it had an engine, there was a good chance Dwayne was interested in it.

On May 29, 2011, Dwayne married Melissa Sue (Askey) David. Together, they shared more than 15 years of marriage and built a life filled with family, laughter, and many memories.

Dwayne was someone who knew how to enjoy life. He loved riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting, and spending time at the beach. Music was also an important part of his life. He enjoyed playing music with friends and played bass guitar. Whether he was working on a car, riding a motorcycle, playing music, or simply spending time with the people he cared about, Dwayne enjoyed being surrounded by good company.

Those who knew Dwayne will especially remember his love of laughter. He enjoyed having a good time and sharing that sense of humor with the people around him. His family and friends will remember the countless stories, laughs, and memories that came from a life filled with the things and people he loved.

Dwayne is survived by his wife, Melissa David; his children, Gage Creekmore and Kalissa Creekmore; his granddaughter, Madison David; his grandsons, Sawyer Ford and Bennet Ford; his brothers, Darrell David and wife Elizabeth, and Dean David; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Leslie “C.L.” David and Marjorie Ellen Fox, and his son, Christopher David.

Dwayne’s life will be remembered through the cars he built, the miles he rode, the music he played, the laughter he shared, and most importantly, the family and friends who loved him.
