Enrique (Rique) Sean Lopez of Bristow passed from this life on May 22, 2020. He was the son of Rene' Zabala Lopez and Kamora Ann Martin and was born on September 7, 1975 in Tulsa. He was a 1994 graduate of Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa. After high school, Rique immediately commenced working as a contractor and enjoyed a mixed career spanning equestrienne track building, wired cable installations, satellite dish installations, fiber optics cable laying, Arrow Engines Maintenance Manager, CNG station maintenance, and home repairs and remodeling. He married Shelley Lynn Davis on November 13, 1999, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and shortly thereafter they moved to Bristow, Oklahoma, and started a small farm with chickens, goats, miniature donkeys, horses, and many other creatures. Rique was licensed to house and grow reptiles of all sorts and kept three alligators in the required double fenced and double locked pen. That required the growing of rats for food and Shelley maintained up to 80 rats at a time on average. He was also known for his almost magical ability to get any small engine running even after years of non-use. He enjoyed motorcycles, specialty tools, skid-steers, four-wheelers, generators, tractors, his bucket truck, and many work vans customized inside to organize his many tools and small parts. Rique was loved by all who knew him and his winning smile made many friends. He would go out of his way to tow friends' vehicles, haul large equipment (even interstate), help many people move from house to house, and help out in any way he could. Whatever he set out to do, he did, no matter what. He had worlds of confidence and rarely was he mistaken. He also enjoyed his annual deer cabin hunts in Arkansas and Oklahoma over the years.
Rique was preceded in death by his mother, Kamora Ann Sains, who passed away on May 8, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Shelley Lynn Lopez, of Bristow; his father, Rene' Zabala Lopez of Tulsa; his sister, Cheri' Hatfield (Mike) and their three children, Adam, Andrew and Alex, all of Tulsa; two brothers, Bryan (Crystal) Vann-Lopez of Broken Arrow and Shane Lopez of Tulsa; and one sister, Keely-Shaye McCoy (John) of Edmond.
Rique will be missed by all of these kinfolks as well as a multitude of friends and past co-workers and contractors. He will remain in the hearts and memories of the Lopez and Davis families forever. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 6, 2020 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 301 South 9th Street, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
