Wagoner

Frederick “Fred” Wesley Skinner, age 72, resident of Wagoner, OK, passed away at his home in Wagoner, OK, on Thursday evening, December 18, 2025. He was born on March 3, 1953, at Pryor Moots Hospital in Pryor, OK to Si Wesley and Opal May (Roach) Skinner. Fred's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, his passion for the outdoors, and his commitment to his work.

Fred attended Chouteau schools and graduated from Chouteau High School. His love for mechanics led him to Vo-Tech school, where he honed his skills before working at Pryor Foundry. His thirst for knowledge and advancement took him to Star Training Institute for Computer System Technology in 2002, which paved the way for his long and rewarding career at Acme Engineering and Manufacturing Corporation as a laborer, a position he held for over 20 years until his retirement.

Beyond his professional life, Fred's heart belonged to the countryside. He was a man who found solace in the simplicity of farming and the companionship of his animals. His love for raising cattle was only matched by the joy he found in spending time with his grandson, Tyler. Fred's hands were rarely still, as he was always found either fishing, hunting, woodworking, or working around the farm. His love for technology was evident in his fascination with computers, and he was a huge fan of OU and Kansas City Chiefs football.

Fred's life was enriched by his marriage to the love of his life, Janet Elaine Henderson, on July 18, 1986. Their union was a testament to enduring love, spanning 39 beautiful years. Together, they built a family and a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories.

Fred is survived by his wife, Janet Skinner of the home in Wagoner, OK; his daughter, Jennifer Allen and husband Ronald "Bucky" of Coweta, OK; his son, Jeffrey Wyer of Kansas City, MO; his grandchildren, Tyler Cline and husband Kiefer Ainesworth of Pryor, OK, and Eden Allen of Foyil, OK; his sister, Frieda Pankratz and husband Dwight of Inola, OK; his brother, Rick Skinner of Mazie, OK; his nephew, Wesley Pankratz; his niece, Melissa Scyforre; and numerous other relatives who will miss him dearly. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Si Wesley and Opal May (Roach) Skinner.

His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his influence will continue to be felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing this remarkable man.
