Gary Lee Lewis

Gary Lee Lewis, age 76, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Gary was born on April 21, 1949, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to Leamon Lewis and Lavern (Harrell) Lewis. He was a proud graduate of Broken Arrow High School, Class of 1967, and continued his education at Northeastern State University.

Gary honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era, a time in his life he carried with pride and strength.

He spent many years working in construction before following his passion for the road as a truck driver. Gary later worked alongside his son at Lewis Trucking, where he remained dedicated to his work and took pride in providing for his family through years of hard work.

Gary had a love for life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed classic muscle cars, fishing, and spending time at Fort Gibson Lake. He never passed up a good seafood or steakhouse meal and loved attending cruise nights in Stigler. He was known for his fun-loving personality and sense of humor.

Above all, Gary cherished his family. He was a jokester who loved making people laugh and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He had a playful spirit and was known to sneak a little money into their hands when no one was looking, creating moments they will always remember.

Gary is survived by his sons, Greg Lewis and wife Jo Lynn, and Brian Lewis and wife Devin; his grandchildren, Madison Lewis, Tanner Lewis, and Emily Duran; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leamon and Lavern Lewis; his brother, Jerry Dale Lewis; and his sister, Helen Henningsen.

Gary will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his sense of humor, and the love he had for his family. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the memories shared.
