Gary Lee Thomas

Gary Lee Thomas, age 66, resident of Coweta, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Gary was born on June 16, 1960, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Johnny Lee Thomas and Patricia Kay (Marnane) Thomas. He graduated from Garber High School in 1978 before beginning a career as a diesel mechanic. Gary spent many years working for Yocham Trucking, where he was known for his strong work ethic, mechanical ability, and willingness to lend a helping hand.

On September 4, 2011, Gary married the love of his life, Debra Jean "Debbie" (Ray) Thomas. Together they built a life centered around family, laughter, and making memories with those they loved most.

Gary found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid football fan and a devoted supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR races, spending time fishing, and sharing those moments with family and friends. Whether cheering on his favorite team or enjoying a quiet day on the water, Gary treasured every opportunity to be with the people he loved.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Thomas, of the home in Coweta, Oklahoma; his daughters, Kacey Jones and husband Kelly of Claremore, Oklahoma and Amber Phillips of Las Vegas, Nevada; his grandchildren, Austin Jones, Krystin Jones, Alexxa Jackson, Alexis Brayfield, Brilee Brayfield, Jasmine Renner, Xandria Phillips, and Ace Jones; his mother-in-law, Wanda Ray of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his sister, Cheryl Hoffman and husband Daniel of Yukon, Oklahoma; his niece, Alicia Beede; his nephew, John Hoffman; his great niece Bella Youngblood; and many other cherished relatives and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his son, Carl Renner; his parents, Johnny and Patricia Thomas; his great-niece, Bailey Youngblood; his grandparents, Daniel and Ruth Marnane; and his father-in-law, Harold Ray.

Gary will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with the family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Brown's Funeral Service in Coweta, Oklahoma. Graveside services celebrating Gary's life will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, with Pastor Daris Lenard officiating.
