James Drew Watson, age 42, of Adair, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at his home.
James was born on February 26, 1984, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Kenneth Drew Watson and Karla Ann (Jacobs) Watson. He grew up in the Tulsa area and later made his home in Adair, where he built his life around family, hard work, and the things he loved most.
James worked as a truck driver, a career that suited his independent spirit and strong work ethic. He took pride in what he did and was known for being dependable and willing to go the extra mile. In addition to his work, James had a natural talent for fixing things—if something was broken, he was the one people called. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, listening to music, and simply spending time with those closest to him.
Above all, James loved his family. He cherished his wife, Michelle, and was proud of the life they built together. He also deeply loved his daughters, Jamie Watson and Megan Watson, and valued every moment spent with them. Whether it was sharing a meal, telling stories, or just being together, those moments meant the most to him.
James is survived by his wife, Michelle Watson of Adair, Oklahoma; his daughters, Jamie Watson and Megan Watson; his mother, Karla Watson of Claremore, Oklahoma; his sister, Myra Gawf of Coweta, Oklahoma; his brother, Danny Watson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his sister, Mary Flatt of Verdigris, Oklahoma; and his sister, Marla Watson of Claremore, Oklahoma; along with numerous nieces and nephews including Alyssa Gawf, Trey Gawf, JaceLynn Lester, Memphis Lester, Zayvion Gawf, Lakelynn Gawf, Kylie Flatt, and Logan Flatt, as well as many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Drew Watson; his grandparents, Fred Watson, Mae Victory Walker, and Bert Walker; and his niece, Kaylin Gawf.
James will be remembered for his strong will, his ability to fix just about anything, and the love he had for his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service celebrating the life of James will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma, with Pastor Ron Spradlin officiating. A dinner will be held at 1:30 PM at Abundant Rain Church prior to the service.
