Jerry Don Cowles, Sr.

Jerry Don Cowles, Sr., age 81, of Coweta, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, surrounded by family.

Jerry was born on May 28, 1944, in Claremore, Oklahoma to John Hudson Cowles & Agnes Lorene (Chisholm) Cowles. Jerry attended Coweta Public School all his life. On February 10, 1962, Jerry and LaDonie Ann Collins married, setting up their home in Coweta, and went on to have three children, Jerry Don (Jr.), Brett & Michelle. An avid car guy, Jerry could be found thumbing through Autotrader, under the hood of one of his many cars or at local flea markets searching for a deal. He also enjoyed playing pool, watching basketball on TV and playing pickup with the kids and grands in the yard. By trade, a Boilermaker, he traveled around the United States welding.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann Cowles of the home; brother: Scott Cowles of Tulsa, OK; sisters: Mary Ann Watkins and Sandra Milliser, both of Tulsa, OK; children: Jerry Don Cowles, Jr. and wife Teresa of Coweta, OK; Brett Cowles and wife Kimberly of Conway, AR; and Michelle Meadows and husband Greg of Coweta, OK; grandchildren: Magen Hilton and husband Brian of Coweta, OK; Lacey Rogers and husband Jared of Owasso, OK; Colton Cowles and wife Sarah; Chelsea Houston and husband Talon; Cassidy Boehringer and husband Derreck all of Conway, AR; Jacob Meadows of Coweta, OK; Madelyn Childers and husband Jacob of Broken Arrow, OK; Hannah Meadows, and Justin Meadows both of Coweta, OK; great-grandchildren: Collins Hilton, Cooper Hilton, Holden Rogers, Streeter Hilton, Anderson Rogers, Brock Cowles, Tate Houston, Beckham Childers, Isla Childers and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Agnes Cowles, John Cowles; stepmother Edith Cowles; brothers: Kenneth Cowles, Jimmy Cowles, Johnie Cowles and Lance Cowles; and great-grandson Oliver Childers.

Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma. A graveside service celebrating Jerry's life will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
