He was born on February 23, 1940, in Binger, OK to Jesse Willie and Jean May (Lanham) McCord. Jerry's life was a testament to his enduring strength, love for his family, and his unwavering work ethic.

Jerry attended school in Oklahoma City, laying the foundation for a life of service and dedication. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, enlisting on March 6, 1957, and receiving an honorable discharge on October 20, 1959. His time in the Air Force instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life.

After his military service, Jerry embarked on a long and successful career as a truck driver, most notably with Arrow Trucking in Tulsa, where he remained until his retirement. His work was not just a job; it was a reflection of his reliability and commitment to providing for his family, whom he loved deeply.

Jerry's passion for life extended beyond his professional endeavors. He found joy in the simplicity of the outdoors, whether it was camping under the stars, fishing in the quiet of dawn, or tinkering on vehicles, always with a tool in hand and a problem to solve. These moments of tranquility and challenge brought him immense satisfaction and peace.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosa Lee McCord of Coweta, OK; his children, Lonetta Murray and husband Dennis of Coweta, OK, Sherry Phillips and husband Thomas of Houston, TX, and Roy McCord of Sand Springs, OK. His legacy continues through his brother, David McCord of Oklahoma City, OK; his grandchildren, Cassidy Gayle Carr and William Lee McCord; his six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will forever cherish his memory.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Willie and Jean May McCord; his son, Jesse Wayne McCord; his brothers, Joel McCord and Jimmy McCord; his sister, Judith Caughen; and his granddaughter, Jessica Ann McCord.

His presence will be profoundly missed, but the impact of his love, guidance, and the example he set will continue to resonate with all who knew him.
