Karen “Donette” Scott, age 66, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was born on March 21, 1959, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Donald E. Scott and Wanda Lee (Dorsey) Dalton.
Donette was a graduate of Broken Arrow High School. She worked for many years in the laundry department at St. Francis Hospital, where she was known for her steady work ethic and friendly nature. She later retired after faithfully serving in her role within the hospital community.
Donette lived a full and active life. She was especially proud of her accomplishments in Special Olympics, earning three gold medals in international running competitions. Her determination, strength, and competitive spirit were qualities that defined her. She also enjoyed being part of a bowling league, playing bingo, and visiting the casino and local fairs. Donette loved going out to eat with friends and spending time surrounded by those she cared about.
Family meant everything to her. She cherished time with her nieces and nephews and was always happiest when she was with the people she loved. Her warm personality and joyful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Donette is survived by her sister, Regina Dobson; her niece, Lexus Dobson; her nephews, Christian Madden, Brennin Madden, and Mark Madden; her great-nephews, Dillan Lamb, Tyler Lamb, Brennin Madden, Jr., Kingston Lee Madden, and Zion Madden; her great-niece, Genesis Madden; her great-great-nephew, Maverick Lamb; and her uncle, Kenneth Scott, along with extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald E. Scott, and her mother, Wanda Lee Dalton.
There are no services are planned at this time for Donette.
