Kathryn Louise Carr, age 84, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday evening, August 10, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Kathryn was born on July 29, 1942, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to Earl and May (Edgmon) Hicks. She attended Broken Arrow schools and graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1960. She later continued her education at Oklahoma State University.

On January 28, 1960, Kathryn married the love of her life, Jerry Delon Carr, in Broken Arrow. Together, they shared more than 66 years of marriage, creating a beautiful life filled with family, treasured memories, and a love that endured through the years.

Kathryn possessed a remarkable creative spirit and seemed to have a special gift for making the world around her a little more beautiful. She worked for a time as a dental hygienist, but her artistic talents were especially evident in her work as a florist at Hobby Lobby and A New Leaf. Designing flowers came naturally to Kathryn, and she had a wonderful eye for creating something beautiful with her hands.

Her creativity reached far beyond floral design. Kathryn loved gardening, photography, painting, and sewing and was a talented seamstress. Whether she was arranging flowers, tending to her garden, capturing a special moment through a photograph, painting, or creating something with needle and thread, Kathryn poured a piece of herself into everything she made. She also had a tender heart for animals and loved them dearly.

As talented as Kathryn was, the most beautiful part of her life was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family grew to include generations of people she loved deeply.

Kathryn is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry Carr of the home in Broken Arrow; three daughters, Robin Rector and husband Jeffery of Broken Arrow, Geri Gilstrap and Jimmy of Stilwell, and Wendy Carr of Broken Arrow; six grandchildren, Miranda Wooton and husband Chance, Aubrey Rector and husband John Greco, Joshua Gilstrap and wife Valerie, Seth Gilstrap and wife Sarah, Cody Gilstrap and wife Lauren, and Kati Longshore and husband Craig; 12 great-grandchildren, Violet Wooton, Willow Wooton, Amy Gilstrap, Avery Gilstrap, Cutter Gilstrap, Scout Gilstrap, Tilly Longshore, Hesston Gilstrap, Logan Gilstrap, Noah Gilstrap, Rainee Longshore, and Maisy Gilstrap; and two great-grandchildren on the way. She is also survived by her brother, Paul Hicks and wife Priscilla of Broken Arrow; her sister, Patsy Christian and husband Russell of Broken Arrow; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Ronnie and Dowana Carr of Coweta; her nephews and nieces, David Hicks, Stephanie Barber, Scott Christian, Chris Hicks, Tony Hicks, and Brandon Carr; along with other relatives and many dear friends.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and May Hicks; her brothers, Jerry Hicks and Don Hicks; and her nephew, Greg Hicks.

Kathryn leaves behind a life beautifully lived and a family deeply loved. Much like the flowers she so lovingly arranged and the gardens she tended, her life brought beauty to those around her. Though she will be greatly missed, the love she gave, the things she created, and the memories she made will continue to bloom in the hearts of her family for generations to come.

Visitation will be from 12:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Brown's Funeral Service in Coweta, Oklahoma, with the family present to receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Services celebrating Kathryn's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma, with Pastor Doug Willey officiating. Kathryn will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
