Kenneth W. Locey, Jr.

Kenneth “Ken” Wilson Locey, Jr., age 71, resident of Coweta, OK, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at St. John Hospital in Broken Arrow, OK. He was born on May 5, 1954, in Urbana, NY, to Kenneth Willis Locey, Sr. and Marilyn Elsie (Shive) Locey.

Ken was raised in New York and graduated from Haverling High School in Bath, NY, with the Class of 1972. He went on to pursue higher education in applied science and drafting, later earning a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, as well as a Computer Science degree.

Ken built a long and respected career as an IT Application Analyst and Engineering Manager. He worked for Dresser-Rand from 1987 to 2003, followed by ACE Coolers, where he served as an Engineering Manager from 2006 to 2009. He then spent 5 years as an Engineering Manager with Exterran, before joining Matrix Service, where he concluded his professional career and retired in 2019.

Ken and Sherry L. (Wright) Locey began dating in 1985, forming a partnership rooted in love, respect, and shared values. They were married on December 17, 1988, and together built a life centered on family, learning, and shared interests.

Ken enjoyed a wide range of hobbies and activities throughout his life. He loved bass fishing and was a proud member of the Hog Hunter Fishing Club. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, and later in life he found joy in spending time at the lake, watching westerns, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. Ken was also active in civic life, serving with the Bath Lions Club in Bath, NY, from 1989 to 1994, where he began as a trail twister and later served as treasurer and president.

Ken is survived by his wife, Sherry Locey of the home in Coweta, OK; his children, Brett W. Locey and wife Katie of Pryor, OK, Kenneth J. Locey and wife Venus of Woodstock, IL, and Jasmine L. Valles and husband Daniel of Broken Arrow, OK; his six grandchildren, Kloie Hughes, Karson Hughes, Bella Locey, Trinity Eklof and husband Trevor, Zavier Clark, and April Locey; his brother, Keith W. Locey of Coweta, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Willis Locey, Sr. and Marilyn E. Locey, and his sisters, Judith Locey, Joellen Porter, and June Bacon.

A service celebrating Ken’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Coweta, OK.
