Louis "Dale" Hailey

July 26, 1949 — June 14, 2025

Tulsa

Louis Dale Hailey, known affectionately as Dale to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 75. He was born on July 26, 1949, in Evansville, Indiana, to John Thomas Hailey and Gladys Laverne (Claybrooke) Hailey. Dale led a life marked by dedication, service, and love.

After completing his high school education, Dale honorably served his country in the Air Force and the National Guard until the mid-1970s. He enjoyed his work as a Military Police K-9 Shepherd Trainer for Air Force Bases all over the country. His time in the military ingrained in him a strong sense of responsibility and discipline, values that would remain with him throughout his life. Dale then embarked on a new adventure, spending 30 years behind the wheel of a semi-truck, traversing the nation and contributing to the backbone of American industry with his long-haul trucking. After retiring from trucking, Dale worked as a casino dealer, where his charismatic personality and steady hand earned him the respect and friendship of coworkers and patrons alike. His work ethic and affable nature were hallmarks of his character, leaving lasting impressions on all those he met. I

n 2005, Dale's life was graced with an additional beam of joy when he married his beloved wife, Lie (Zhao) Hailey, in Nanning, GX China, on October 12, 2005. Together, they built a life full of happiness and mutual support. His commitment as a husband and father to his sons was unwavering, and his love for them knew no bounds.

In his leisure time, Dale enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as watching TV, where he could explore worlds far from the roads he so often traveled. His laughter filled the room during his favorite shows, bringing light and warmth to his home. Dale was preceded in death by his parents John and Gladys Hailey. He is survived by his wife, Lie Hailey of Tulsa, his sons, Brian Whitley and wife Deborah, Christopher Hailey, and Tianyu Consdante and wife Jing Yu, who will carry forward his legacy of kindness, humor, and humility.

His memory will be cherished and his presence deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A Visitation to honor the life of Dale will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel, Coweta, Oklahoma. A private family service will be held as he is laid to rest at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
