Marion “Bud” Breshears, age 92, longtime Coweta resident departed this life on Tuesday morning, March 9, 2021 at Coweta Manor Nursing Home in Coweta, Oklahoma. Bud was born on December 4, 1928 in Stonebluff, Oklahoma and was the son of Marion Franklin and Sally Simpson (Wells) Breshears. He served in the Army National Guard from 1950 to 1952. Bud married the love of his life, Emma Mae Hallum on April 1, 1950 in Van Buren, Arkansas. He was a carpenter for over 60 years. Bud was a member of the Carpenters Union. He enjoyed riding horses and going on trail rides. Bud loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Bud is survived by four children, Buddy Breshears of Kellyville, Oklahoma, Kathy Frost and husband Bud of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Diana Garrett and husband Terry of Neosho, Missouri, and David Breshears of Coweta, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Mae Breshears; his parents, Marion Franklin and Sally Simpson Breshears; his granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Kennedy; twelve siblings; and his daughter-in-law, Diane Breshears.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma. Services celebrating Bud’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 15, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma with Rev. Brody Morris officiating. Bud will be laid to rest next to his wife, Emma at Gibson Cemetery in Stonebluff, Oklahoma. Pallbearers are Buck Frost, Keith Frost, Matthew Breshears, Mikey Breshears, Joshua Garrett, and Justin Reaser. Honorary Pallbearers are Benny Parkerson and Ray Scroggins.
