Martha (Mathis) Todd

August 18, 1933 — September 5, 2025

Broken Arrow

Martha (Mathis) Todd, age 92, resident of Broken Arrow, OK, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, September 5, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. She was born on August 18, 1933, in Enid, OK to Ollie Van and Anita (Gallagher) Mathis. Martha's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and generous heart.

Martha's journey began in the small town of Garber, where she attended school and graduated from Garber High School. Her early years were filled with the simple joys of small-town life, which laid the foundation for the remarkable woman she would become. Martha's life was marked by her dedication to her family, her work, and her community. She balanced her roles with grace, working various jobs from babysitting to managing the fine jewelry department at Sanger Harris, and later serving as an attendance clerk at Cooper Elementary School before her well-deserved retirement.

Martha's life was one of connection and service. She met her beloved husband, Neal Kenneth Todd, in Garber, and they married on August 19, 1950. Together, they shared 57 years of love and companionship until Neal's passing. Martha's home was always a hub of activity, filled with the laughter of her children and their friends. She was the heart of her family, and her love extended beyond her family to include anyone in need. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she had a special place in her heart for animals, providing a loving home to many dogs and cats over the years.

A woman of faith, Martha was a member of Sheridan Avenue Christian Church in Tulsa, where she taught Sunday school and participated in various church activities. Her commitment to her faith was evident in the way she lived her life, always striving to help others and spread kindness wherever she went.

Martha's legacy is carried on by her daughter, Kathleen Veatch of Broken Arrow, OK; her grandchildren, Zac Veatch and wife Melissa of Yukon, OK, Rebecca Veatch of Broken Arrow, OK, and Will Veatch of Tulsa, OK; her great-granddaughter, Nova; her sister, Meredith Chapman and husband Jack of California; her daughter-in-law, Kay Todd of Tulsa, OK; her son-in-law, Mark Veatch of Broken Arrow, OK; her devoted caregiver, Tammy Baker; nephews, Mark Bohon and John Bohon; and special friends who were touched by her warmth and generosity.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Neal Kenneth Todd; her parents, Ollie and Anita Mathis; her sons, Robert Todd and Kenneth Todd; and her sister, Marilyn Bohon.

Her life story and the memories she created will forever be cherished, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved. Martha will be remembered not just for the life she lived, but for the love she gave so freely.
