Mary Ann Hibbard, age 94, of Tulsa, OK, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, January 11, 2026, at Oklahoma Memory Care in Tulsa, OK.
Mary Ann was born on April 17, 1931, in Tulsa, OK, to William Donald Shutters, Sr. and Nancy L. (Hughes) Lovelace. She was raised in Tulsa and graduated from Will Rogers High School. She later attended Draughon’s Business College, furthering her education in business studies.
Mary Ann enjoyed a long and successful career in clerical, secretarial, and accounting work. She worked for various doctors’ offices, served as an Accounting Supervisor at City of Faith, and later worked in marketing for HMO insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield. She eventually retired after many years of dedicated service.
She was a woman of strong faith and devoted much of her life to church and ministry. Mary Ann served faithfully in various local churches, volunteering in ministries such as Bible study groups, wedding planning, and Vacation Bible School. She also participated in several mission trips to Peru and Kenya, experiences that were deeply meaningful to her. Throughout the years, she attended Family Worship Center in Tulsa, Trinity Baptist Church in Inola, and Love & Grace Church in Broken Arrow.
Mary Ann was known for her playful sense of humor and joyful spirit. She loved practical jokes—especially when the moment was just right—and her recognizable laugh often brought smiles to those around her. Above all else, she adored her family and was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She made sure her family always knew how deeply she loved them and how proud she was of each one.
She also had a creative side and was a talented artist, often taking educational classes to learn new skills. Many of her creations became cherished Christmas gifts for family members, gifts that will be treasured for years to come.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, John Robert Hibbard; her children, Jeanne Oswald and husband Tim, Darrell Woodard, and Dr. Linda Woodard; her stepchildren, Tony Hibbard and wife Sherry, and Randy Hibbard and wife Rhonda; twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Donald Shutters, Sr. and Nancy L. Lovelace, and her brother, William Donald Shutters, Jr.
