Mary Kathleen Norris, age 83, resident of Tulsa, OK, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at her son's home in Coweta, OK. She was born on June 5, 1942, in Little Rock, AR to John Emmett and Ina Mae (Ward) Elliott. Kathleen’s life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and the deep bonds she forged with those around her.

Kathleen attended school and graduated from high school in Sweet Home, AR. Her academic achievements were just the start of a life marked by dedication and service. Kathleen’s professional career was spent as a trust officer at Springfield Trust Company, where she was respected for her integrity and commitment until her well-deserved retirement.

On August 20, 1961, Kathleen married the love of her life, Ronnie Edward Norris. Together, they created a family and a legacy of love that would endure through generations. Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Lyons and husband Dennis of Birmingham, AL; her son, Scott Norris and wife Wendy of Coweta, OK; her beloved grandchildren, Natalie Lyons of Birmingham, AL, Grace Lyons of Mobile, AL, Zach Norris and wife Cameron of Broken Arrow, OK, Caleb Norris of Denver, CO, and Braden Norris and wife Kenady of Oklahoma City, OK; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Coby Norris and Knox Norris. She also leaves behind her brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Susan Norris of Arkadelphia, AR; her nephew, Blake Norris and wife Catherine; her nieces, Jan Zawada, Jamie Portillo, and Julie Saucier; and her cousin, Bill Ward of Pensacola, FL, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronnie Norris, after 56 years of marriage, her parents, John Emmett Elliott and Ina Mae Elliott, and her brother, John Emmett Elliott.

Kathleen's passion for gardening was evident in the meticulously tended flower beds that graced her home. Her generosity knew no bounds, as she would eagerly share plants and gardening tips with friends and neighbors, spreading beauty wherever she went. Her love for her family was a constant topic of conversation, and she supported them with unwavering love and pride.

Known for her famous cookies, Kathleen was a beloved figure among her son Scott's players, cheering them on with her characteristic phrases and boundless enthusiasm. Her volunteer work in Edmond's nursing homes showcased her caring nature, as she played piano, called bingo, and brought joy to many through her faithful companion, Honey.

Kathleen's devotion to her husband was a shining example of enduring love, and her ability to make friends easily was a gift that enriched the lives of all who knew her. Her musical talents were shared through teaching piano, playing the organ at South Haven Baptist Church, leading handbells, and even taking up violin lessons in her later years, simply for the love of music.

A gifted storyteller, Kathleen could weave tales that captivated her audience, often embellishing a simple story with rich detail and multiple backstories. Her legacy of love, music, and storytelling will live on in her family and all who were touched by her vibrant spirit.

A memorial service to celebrate Kathleen's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Life.Church Broken Arrow, 2420 E. Kenosha St., Broken Arrow, OK 74014. Kathleen and her husband Ronnie will be laid to rest together at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK.
