Michael James Waters

Michael James Waters, age 37, of Tulsa, OK, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Michael was born on August 8, 1988, in Tulsa, OK, to Jackie Allen Waters and Debra Sue Wasson. Though his life held many challenges, Michael was known for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and the way he cared deeply for the people around him.

Michael was a graduate of Jenks High School and worked in food service. He enjoyed the simple things in life and found joy in everyday moments. Michael had a love for horror movies and enjoyed spending time outdoors whenever he could. He appreciated Oklahoma’s ever-changing weather and liked being outside in nature. In addition to his love of the outdoors, he was also passionate about wrestling and greatly enjoyed watching WWE. More than anything, he cherished time spent with family and friends. Those who knew Michael remember him as someone who had been dealt a tough deck in life, yet he carried himself with resilience and quiet strength.

Michael had a soft heart and truly cared about people. He wanted to make a difference in the world and to be remembered for his compassion. He enjoyed being around loved ones, sharing conversations, laughter, and moments that mattered. His presence will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Michael is survived by his uncle and aunt, Jimmy and Mindy Wasson; his brother, Shane Cavin; and his cousins, Chad Wasson, Sean Wasson, Shawn Waters, Morgan Patterson, Taylor Brown, and Rider Matlock. He is also remembered fondly by extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Sue “Debbie” (Wasson) Waters; his father, Jackie Allen “Jack” Waters; his grandmother, Sue Wasson; and his grandfather, James Wasson.

A private family service will be held for Michael.
