Norma "Carol" Spicer

Norma “Carol” Spicer, age 87, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Kenosha Landing in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Carol was born on October 7, 1938 in Leonard, Oklahoma, to Cecil Baker and Mazie (Johnson) Baker. She was a graduate of Bixby High School. She spent her life devoted to her family, her faith, and her love of music.

She worked as a bookkeeper at First National Bank in Tulsa, Oklahoma for several years, where she was known for her dedication, accuracy, and reliability.

Carol had a true gift and passion for playing the piano. She began playing at just 12 years old and went on to serve as a pianist for over 50 years in various churches, faithfully sharing her talent and love for worship through music. Her dedication and consistency blessed countless congregations and touched many lives over the years.

She was known for her gentle spirit, her faith, and her quiet strength. Carol found joy in serving others and in using her gifts to bring comfort and encouragement to those around her.

Carol is survived by her son, Ronald “Lynn” Gibson and wife, Vicki, of Edmond, Oklahoma; her daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Ledbetter and husband, Chuck of Checotah, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, Selena Byrd and husband, Travis of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Shannon Pierce and husband, Greg of Edmond, Oklahoma, Kara Focht and husband, Justin of Wainwright, OK, and Angela Williams of Checotah, Oklahoma; 17 great grandchildren, Madacyn Scott and husband, Leon, Noah Byrd, Ethan Byrd and wife, Kaitlin, Natalya Byrd, Johnny Byrd, Lani Pierce, Maggie Pierce, Joann Pierce, Ramon Pierce, Aliyah Pierce, Addie Focht, Hannah Focht, Beau Focht, Dominic Williams, Aubree Williams, Jack Williams, and Cole Williams; 2 great-great grandchildren, MacKenzie Scott and Olivia Byrd; her sister, Susie Allen and husband Marc; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Mazie Baker.

Carol will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love of music, and the many years she faithfully served through her piano ministry. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who heard her play and knew her.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Bixby Cemetery in Bixby, Oklahoma, with Pastor Greg Pierce officiating.
