Sandra Marie "Sandy" Lantroop, 79, of Coweta, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was also affectionately known as "Snooks" by many family members and close friends.
Sandy was born on October 11, 1946, in Coweta, Oklahoma, to William Alton Booth and Virgie Marie (Murray) Booth. She attended Coweta Schools, graduating from Coweta High School with the Class of 1965, and later attended Tulsa Junior College.
On March 4, 1976, Sandy married Douglas Phillip Lantroop in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Together they shared many happy years until his passing in 2009.
Sandy dedicated 27 years of her career to Exterran, where she worked as an office clerk before retiring in 2008. She was respected for her dedication, dependability, and friendly personality.
Sandy enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved sewing, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She also enjoyed target shooting with her pistol and was always ready for a new adventure. Whether traveling with family or working on a sewing project, she embraced life with enthusiasm and a smile.
Above all, Sandy cherished her family. She found her greatest happiness in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow and create families of their own. Her love, encouragement, and unwavering support will remain a lasting legacy for generations to come.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Lee Bowers, Jr. and wife Donna of Coweta, Oklahoma; her daughters, Kimberly Tackett and husband Keith of Porter, Oklahoma, and Candace Carter of Coweta, Oklahoma; her step-son, Shane Jones of Arkansas; eleven grandchildren, Kyle Tackett, Sadie Shipman and husband Anthony, Sarah Cherry, Brent Bowers and wife Alexis, Rachel McGuire and husband Aaron, Zeek Lantroop, Brice Carter, Kyle Carroll and wife Jessica Lucas, Amy Carroll, Ashley Hall and husband Sam, and Brooke Dause and husband Shane; eleven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Brenda August of Coweta, Oklahoma, Hope Nunley of Coweta, Oklahoma, Rena Abel and husband Tom of Haskell, Oklahoma, and Sherry Holiman and husband Vincent of Haskell, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Phillip Lantroop; her parents, William Alton Booth and Virgie Marie Booth; her son, Bryan Bowers; her brother, Lynn Booth; and her sisters, Kathy Hill and Gennie Booth.
Visitation will be from 12:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Brown’s Funeral Service in Coweta, Oklahoma with the family present from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Services celebrating Sandy’s life will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at CrossPoint Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma with Rev. Audie Abel officiating. She will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
