Shirley Lodean Falls, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, in Hulbert, Oklahoma. She was born on November 1, 1936, in Trumann, Arkansas to Jody B. and Reva M. (Cunningham) Benson. Shirley's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and joyful moments shared with those she held dear.
A proud graduate of Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, AR, Shirley carried the lessons of her youth throughout her life. She was a devoted homemaker, a role she embraced with grace and tireless commitment, creating a nurturing environment that was the heart of her family.
Shirley's life was filled with the simple pleasures that she found in the beauty of nature. Her gardens were a testament to her patience and care, and her love for watching birds was a source of endless tranquility. She found joy in the outdoors, whether it was tending to her plants or simply basking in the serenity of a sunny day.
Her spirit of community extended beyond her garden gate, as Shirley was known for her love of visiting with people. She had a gift for making everyone she met feel like family.
Family was the cornerstone of Shirley's world. She is survived by her sons, John Falls (Tiffany) of Hulbert, Oklahoma, and Keith Falls (Brenda) of Arlington, Texas; five grandchildren, Alan Falls (Caitlin), Charles Porche (Kayla), Lindsey Garrison (Wilson), Madison Stilwell (Wyatt), and Owen Falls; nine great-grandchildren; her siblings, Donna Loggins, Joe Benson, Gerald Benson, John Benson, and Terry Benson, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives who were touched by her kindness and generosity.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Wayne Falls, her parents, Jody B. and Reva M. Benson, and her siblings, Jewel Parsons, RC Benson, Leroy Benson, Guy Benson, and Larry Benson.
Shirley's journey through life was marked by the love she gave and the love she received. Her spirit, like her garden, will continue to flourish and inspire for generations to come.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Shirley Lodean Falls will be held at a later date in Arkansas.
