Steven Wayne “Steve” Anderson, age 66, of Coweta, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at his home.

Steve was born on September 10, 1959, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Bobby Jess Anderson and Helen Joyce (Craven) Anderson.

The most important thing to Steve was his family. The love of his life was his son, Austin. Early on, Steve loved working with kids at the baseball academy and later enjoyed working with Austin in various sports. One of his proudest moments was when Austin joined the United States Marine Corps.

Steve loved sports. He could often be found watching a game on television or listening to one on the radio, just like his dad used to do. He especially enjoyed the Oklahoma Sooners and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Steve enjoyed his job as a shuttle driver when he was physically able to drive. Health problems over the last few years kept him from doing many of the things he loved, but he always enjoyed talking to people and truly never met a stranger.

Steve is survived by his son, Austin Anderson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his mother, Helen Joyce Hawk of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his sisters, Joni Foster and husband Eddie of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jessica Jeffus and husband Drew of Gentry, Arkansas, and Miranda Anderson of Springdale, Arkansas; his aunts, Sandra Craven of Nowata, Oklahoma, and Kendra Anderson Keller and husband Rusty of Greeley, Colorado; his uncle, Larry Anderson and wife Joyce of Norman, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Jess Anderson.

Steve will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors.

A Celebration of Life for Steve will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Apostles Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Family and friends are encouraged to wear OU or St. Louis Cardinals gear in honor of Steve and his love of sports.
