Sylvia Louann Butler

Sylvia Louann Butler, age 86, of Coweta, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at her home surrounded by family.

Sylvia was born on September 27, 1939, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Maudie (Sitton) Monds-Gillespie. She was raised in Muskogee and graduated from Muskogee High School.

Sylvia dedicated more than 50 years of service working as an Assistant Manager for McDonald’s. She was known for her strong work ethic, caring spirit, and the love she had for her family. Above all else, family was the center of Sylvia’s life, and she treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her three daughters, Cindy Drum, Joyce Runnels, and Nancy Butler; eight grandchildren, Perry Butler, Melissa Drum, Lonny Runnels, Terry Runnels, Chad Runnels, Brad Butler, Crystal Butler, and Ashley Butler; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, David Robertson; her sisters, Wanda Potts and Bertha Goad; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Michael Drum; and her sisters, Evelyn Battenfield and Virginia Craig.

The family will forever cherish the memories shared with Sylvia and the love she gave so freely throughout her life.

A memorial service celebrating Sylvia’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma, with Rev. Brody Morris officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Brown’s Funeral & Cremation Service.
