Obituary

Terry Jackson Hewitt, age 62, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Terry was born on February 7, 1964, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Howard Eugene Hewitt and Myrtle Lee (Tyler) Hewitt.

Terry grew up in the Broken Arrow area and graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1982. He continued his education at Northeastern State University, where he played baseball and earned an Associate of Science degree. He later transferred to Oklahoma State University and completed his certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Terry spent his career helping others through his work as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Over the years, he worked with Reliant Rehabilitation, Care Plus, various nursing homes, and home health organizations. His strong work ethic and determination were qualities that defined Terry throughout his life, both personally and professionally.

On October 26, 2024, Terry married his longtime friend, Linda Jo (Grace) Hewitt, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Terry and Linda shared a special bond rooted in a lifelong friendship and built a life together filled with love, family, and treasured memories. Eureka Springs remained one of Terry’s favorite places, along with Mountain Fork River and Honobia, Oklahoma.

Terry enjoyed staying busy and rarely lacked a project or an adventure. He especially enjoyed buying, selling, and flipping vehicles, as well as hunting, fishing, football, baseball, and traveling. He also enjoyed summer float trips and spending time outdoors with family and friends.

Among Terry’s greatest accomplishments was raising his children and watching them become successful adults. Family was extremely important to him. He took great pride in keeping his family together, even through difficult times when other families might not have survived. His family will remember his strong work ethic, resiliency, determination, and, perhaps most of all, the many memorable “Terryisms” that were uniquely his.

Terry is survived by his wife, Linda Jo Hewitt of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his children, Evan Hewitt and wife Shea of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Hanna Hewitt of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Mason Hewitt of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his stepson, Donald “Trey” Robison of Wagoner, Oklahoma; his stepdaughter, Cynthia Gottschalk and husband Christian of Wellington, Colorado; his step-grandchildren, August, Scarlett, and Oliver; his sisters, Cynthia Hewitt of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Angela Longmire of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Jennifer Holden of Idaho; along with extended family members and many friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Eugene Hewitt and Myrtle Lee Hewitt, and his grandparents.

Terry attended New Heart Church. His life reflected perseverance, loyalty to family, a strong work ethic, and an ability to keep moving forward regardless of what life placed in his path. The lessons he taught, the stories he shared, and those unmistakable “Terryisms” will continue to bring smiles and treasured memories to those who knew and loved him.
