PO1 Timothy David Sullivan, age 43, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, in Chula Vista, CA, while serving on active duty in the United States Navy.
Timothy was born on December 10, 1981, in Tulsa, OK, to William Lee Sullivan and May Louise (Mashburn) Sullivan. He grew up in the Tulsa area and graduated from Coweta High School with the Class of 2000.
In August of 2004, Timothy proudly entered the United States Navy, beginning a lifelong commitment to service. He served honorably for more than 21 years, attaining the rank of Petty Officer First Class (E-6). At the time of his passing, Timothy was assigned to the USS Charleston (LCS-18). His dedication, discipline, and loyalty to his country were evident throughout his distinguished naval career.
Timothy was known for his quiet nature upon first meeting him, but once he felt comfortable, his warmth, humor, and generous spirit quickly shone through. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and could be counted on by family, friends, and fellow sailors alike.
Outside of his military service, Timothy enjoyed camping and fishing, working on cars, smoking meats, and fixing things around the house. He had a lifelong fascination with science fiction and especially enjoyed stargazing through his telescope, finding peace and wonder in the night sky.
Timothy is survived by his wife, Delia Sullivan, of Chula Vista, CA; his son, Nathan Sullivan; his sister, Tammi Batman; and many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lee Sullivan and May Louise (Mashburn) Sullivan, and his brother, John Sullivan.
Timothy will be remembered for his selfless service, steady presence, and kind heart. His legacy lives on through his family, his fellow service members, and the many lives he touched during his years of service to his country.
