Vikki Anne Bush, age 67, resident of Coweta, OK, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2025, in Coweta, OK. She was born on January 12, 1958, in Tulsa, OK to David Joe and Paulie Jeanne (Ratliff) Melton. Vikki's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and spirited adventure.
Vikki grew up in Tulsa, where she attended Webster High School, graduating with the class of 1976. Her formative years were filled with learning and laughter, setting the stage for the remarkable woman she would become.
As a Head Start teacher at C.A.R.D., Vikki dedicated 15 years to nurturing young minds. Her passion for education and her unwavering commitment to her students left an indelible mark on countless lives. Her colleagues and the families she worked with will remember her for her kindness, patience, and the genuine care she extended to every child.
Vikki's heart found its match in Robert Samuel Bush, the love of her life. Together, they built a family that became Vikki's pride and joy. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Bush; her seven children, Elisha McAnally, Larry Noble and his wife Jaimie, Jeremy Gray, Robyn Bush, Shealynn Bush, Robert Bush, Jr., and Natasha Bush and her husband Nathan Simmers; her adored twenty grandchildren; four great-grandchildren who brought her immeasurable happiness; her brother, Terry Melton; her mother-in-law, Lucille Miller; her sister-in-law, Johnnie Duggins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Vikki was preceded in death by her parents, David Joe and Paulie Jeanne Melton and her brothers, David Melton and Greg Groden.
Vikki's zest for life was evident in her many interests. She found solace in the quiet of fishing, the excitement of bowling, the thrill of a good find at garage sales, and the allure of the casino. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Her presence will be profoundly missed, but the light she brought into this world will continue to shine through the lives of those she loved. Vikki’s story is one of love, laughter, and the enduring strength of family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of Vikki's life will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the Broken Arrow Indian United Methodist Church in Broken Arrow, OK with Rev. Eli McHenry officiating.
