William Clarence “Bill” Coday, age 89, lifelong resident of Coweta, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday morning, September 30, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Bill was born on July 27, 1937, in Coweta, Oklahoma, to William Grant Coday and Helen Mae (Hand) Mount. He was raised in the Coweta area, attended Coweta schools, and graduated from Coweta High School in 1955.

Following high school, Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He entered active service on July 17, 1958, and served as an electrician aboard the USS Hancock (CVA-19). During his service, he earned the Good Conduct Medal and was honorably released from active duty on June 22, 1962, transferring to the Naval Reserve.

Bill spent his working years in the electrical and manufacturing industries. He worked for Nelson Electric, where he served as Vice President of Manufacturing. He eventually owned Electrical Power Systems Incorporated. After a successful career, Bill retired at the age of 55.

Throughout his life, Bill enjoyed traveling, horses, going to rodeos, and spending time with his family.

Bill is survived by his three children, Sherry J. Henson, Billie M. Kevila, and Kelly Coday; his grandchildren, Joshua Henson and wife Jessica, Justin Henson, Chelsie Simmons and husband Robert, Robert Henson, Shawndra Davis and husband Chris, Tyler Coday and wife Téa, Brody Coday and wife Baylie, and Kolby Coday; his great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Julianne, Landon, Jackson, Gage, Colton, Easton, Maddie, Gwennie, Caleb, Christian, Barrett, Spencer, and Sutton; his sisters, Patricia Johnson and Cathy Dover; his brother, Jimmy Coday; his daughter-in-law, Jan Coday; along with many other relatives, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Gail Coday; his parents, William Grant Coday and Helen Mae Mount; his son, Jack L. Coday; his sisters, Barbara Sorenson and Wanda Brown; and his grandpa, Clarence Coday.

A memorial service celebrating Bill’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Brown’s Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma, with Rev. Ed Rutherford officiating.
