William "Bill" J. Holt

William Jerry Holt, known affectionately as Bill to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, June 7, 2025, at Countryside Memory Care in Muskogee, OK at the age of 84. He was born on March 14, 1941, in Tulsa, OK to William Brassfield and Cybil (Barnett) Holt.

Bill's early years were spent in Tulsa, where he graduated from Rogers High School in 1960. His pursuit of practical knowledge led him to trade school, where he honed the skills that would define his professional life. As a Union Plumber, Bill's hands were rarely still, and his work ethic was unparalleled. He spent over 25 years with Watt Plumbing and Heating before joining Russell Plumbing, where he continued to contribute his expertise for another 15 years until his well-deserved retirement.

Beyond his professional achievements, Bill's life was rich with personal passions. He was an avid outdoorsman who found solace in the quiet of hunting and the patience of fishing. His love for old cars was more than a hobby; it was a window into the past that he cherished. Gardening was another joy, allowing him to cultivate life and share the fruits of his labor with those he loved.

Bill's heart belonged to his family. He married the love of his life, Jeanetta Mae Yocham, on April 19, 1963, in Tulsa, OK. Their love story was one for the ages, and together they built a life filled with laughter and love. Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Jan Holt, of their home in Haskell, OK; his daughter, Gina Holt of Tulsa, OK; his son, Scott Holt of Eugene, OR; and his two grandchildren, Ryan Shae Holt and Will Holt, who brought him immeasurable joy. He also leaves behind his brother, Michael Holt of Broken Arrow, OK; his nephews and nieces, Mike and Heidi McKinney, Phil and Rebecca Ruble, Shelly and David McGehee, and John and Vicki Burk; as well as numerous other relatives who will miss him dearly.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Brassfield and Cybil Holt, and his sister, Carol Sue Burk.

A man of faith, Bill was a member of Central Church of Christ in Haskell, OK. His commitment to his faith was evident in the way he lived his life, always striving to embody the principles he held dear.

Bill's life was a testament to the power of love, the dignity of work, and the value of community. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A memorial service celebrating Bill's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Central Church of Christ in Haskell, OK.
