Andrew David Hughes

Andrew David Hughes, age 35, resident of Coweta departed this life on Wednesday evening, June 23, 2021 at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by his family.  Andrew was born on June 17, 1986 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was the son of Bobby Lee and Lillian Denette (Adams) Hughes.  He attended Coweta schools and was a 2004 graduate of Coweta High School.  Andrew married Shawn Amber Hermann on June 15, 2012.  He worked as a shift supervisor at Gavco Plastics in Broken Arrow for over 10 years.  Andrew enjoyed playing video games and was a huge OKC Thunder and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.  His family was his world and he loved spending time with his children.  Andrew was a caring and giving person and his final act was to give the gift of life through organ donation.

Andrew is survived by his wife, Shawn Hughes of Coweta, Oklahoma; his parents, Bob and Denette Hughes of Coweta, Oklahoma; his daughters, Lily Hughes and Hailey Hughes, both of Coweta, Oklahoma; his son, Camden Ward of Coweta, Oklahoma; his brother, Adam Hughes of Coweta, Oklahoma; his aunt and uncle, Diane and LD Wilson of Coweta, Oklahoma; his aunt, Barbara Hughes of Coweta, Oklahoma; his niece, Brookelynne Hughes; his nephew, Brinlee Hughes; his cousins, Brian Hughes, Adrienne Tillman and husband Curtis, Alicia Woodin and husband Matt, and Dakota Wilson and wife Kira; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Andrew was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ben and Lillian Adams; his paternal grandparents, Marion and Alene Hughes; and his uncle, Johnny Hughes.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, June 28, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta with the family present from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.  Services celebrating Andrew’s life will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma with Scott Keele officiating.  Andrew will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers are Kevin Childress, Zach Pearson, Jose Martinez, Chris Wheat, Brett Wilson, and JD Holmes.  Honorary Pallbearers are Brinlee Hughes, Adam Hughes, Dakota Wilson, and Brian Hughes.
