Barbara Sue Thurman

Barbara Sue Thurman, age 77, resident of Coweta, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home in Coweta, Oklahoma on Friday, May 19, 2023. She was born on August 18, 1945, in Morgan, Illinois to Reed and Nellie Marie (Reed) Lisenbee.

Barbara was a dedicated and hardworking individual, spending 24 years as a health specialist technician. Her commitment to her work was evident in the countless lives she impacted throughout her career.

A woman of many interests, Barbara had a deep love for horses. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life and cherished the time spent with her family. Barbara's devotion to her daughter Katie was unparalleled, and she took great pride in caring for her throughout her life.

Barbara is survived by her six children, Juanina Lerch of Coweta, Oklahoma, Bert Thurman of Illinois, Ray Thurman of Beardstown, Illinois, Robbyne Silkey of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kevin Thurman of Illinois, and Michelle Tucker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind her sister, Betty Nash of Beardstown, Illinois; her brothers, Bill Lisenbee of Rushville, Illinois and Sammy Lisenbee of Rushville, Illinois; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Otto Thurman, her parents, Reed Lisenbee and Nellie Marie Lisenbee, her daughter, Katie Thurman, one brother, and four sisters.

Although there are no services planned for Barbara, her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
