Betty June Francis

Betty June Francis, age 89, resident of Broken Arrow went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by her family.  Betty was born on June 22, 1931 in Adair, Oklahoma and was the daughter of Joseph Franklin and Myrtle (Claspill) Smith.  She married the love of her life, Jimmy F. “Jim” Francis on December 24, 1948 and they were blessed with three children, Danny, Katherine, and Jerry.  Betty was a homemaker for most of her life, where she loved taking care of her family.  She also owned an antique shop, Jim and Betty’s Place in Broken Arrow.  Betty was a member of Northside Christian Church in Broken Arrow.  She enjoyed sewing, painting, and making quilts for babies and the staff at the nursing home.

Betty is survived by three children, Danny L. Francis and wife Thelma of Coweta, Oklahoma, Katherine Holt and husband Don of Porter, Oklahoma, and Jerry A. Francis and wife Tina of Bixby, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Francis; her parents, Joseph and Myrtle Smith; six brothers; and one sister.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Broken Arrow with the family present from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.  Services celebrating Betty’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with Pastor Jeff Gill officiating.  Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband at Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  Pallbearers are Sidney Francis, Gunner Francis, Jacob Shaw, Clayton Holt, and Ryan Holt.
