Carolyn Jean Gant, age 85, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Coweta Manor Nursing Home in Coweta, OK. She was born on August 28, 1937, in Defiance, OH to Bernard Carpenter Sr. and Mildred (Hill) Carpenter.

She is survived by her children, Debra Smallback of Fort Wayne, IN, Cathy Harwell of Defiance, OH, Ronnie Adams of Tulsa, OK, Randy Garrison of Houston, TX, and Michael Adams of Tulsa, OK. Her legacy also lives on in her numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, each of whom she cherished dearly.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard Carpenter Sr. and Mildred Carpenter, her grandparents, Harold and Mildred Witham, and her brothers, Bernard Carpenter Jr., Robert Carpenter, Danny Carpenter, and Neal Carpenter.

Carolyn was a housekeeper at Hampton Inn, where her commitment to providing a clean and comfortable environment for guests was recognized and appreciated. Her work ethic was unmatched, and she brought joy to many through her dedication and warm personality.

Beyond her work, Carolyn had a passion for life's simple pleasures. She loved her dog, Butch, and found great joy in cooking and cleaning. Her love for cooking was not merely about the act of preparing meals but about the love and care she infused into each dish. She enjoyed the satisfaction of a clean and organized home, finding peace and contentment in maintaining a welcoming space for her loved ones.

While Carolyn’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, her spirit continues to live on in the memories and stories shared by her family and friends. Those wishing to honor Carolyn’s memory are invited to share their memories online at www.brownfamilycares.com.

Carolyn’s care and cremation were entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremations, 210 S. Broadway, Coweta, OK 74429, 918-486-5515. While there are no services planned, the family finds comfort in knowing that Carolyn’s life was filled with love and that she is now at peace.
