Carolyn Hodges Obituary

Carolyn Ann Hodges, age 70, resident of Coweta departed this life on Saturday evening, May 15, 2021 at Post Acute Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Carolyn was born on December 29, 1950 in Phoenix, Arizona and was the daughter of James Wade and Lavada (Corhen) Pennington.  She married the love of her life, Troy Haskell Hodges Sr. on December 29, 1972, in Houston, Texas.  Carolyn worked for Coweta Public Schools as a Teacher’s Assistant for 21 years.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Carolyn enjoyed going to the casino and taking care of her grandson, Travis.  She had a great passion for children and helping others.  She will be greatly missed by all her knew and loved her.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Troy Hodges Sr. of the home in Coweta, Oklahoma; three sons, Travis Hodges Sr. and wife Maryann, Timothy Hodges, and Toby Hodges, all of Coweta, Oklahoma; one daughter, Lana Rexroat and husband Michael of Pinedale, Arizona; three stepsons, Troy Hodges Jr. and wife Christina of Coweta, Oklahoma, Terry Hodges and wife Heather of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Ty Hodges of Coweta, Oklahoma; twenty one grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Gilbert of Arkansas and Donnie Langston and husband Phillip of Kansas; one brother, Charles Pennington and wife Carolyn of Alabama; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, James Wade and Lavada Pennington and her daughter, Tonya Kim Hodges.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held at a later date.
