Christina Ann Essary

Christina Ann Essary, known affectionately as Christi, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Cornerstone Specialty Hospital in Muskogee, OK at the age of 48 years. She was born on February 6, 1976, in Tahlequah, OK to James William and Ruth Ella (Neal) King. Christi's vibrant spirit and joyous heart touched the lives of all who knew her.

Christi grew up in Haskell, OK, where she attended school and graduated from Haskell High School. Christi's career began as a dedicated pharmacy technician, and despite facing health challenges later in life, she continued to work in various capacities, demonstrating her resilience and determination.

Family was the cornerstone of Christi's life. She is survived by her loving daughters, Megan Davis and Julie Essary, both of Broken Arrow, OK; her stepdaughter, Evelyn Hargrove and her husband Michael of Haskell, OK; her stepson, Christopher Coker and his wife Nayesah of Haskell, OK; her brothers, David King and his wife Becky of Broken Arrow, OK and Daniel King of Haskell, OK; several grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Christi was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruth King, and her sister, Cynthia (Hargrove) King.

Christi was a woman of many passions. She found solace and joy in the great outdoors, whether she was fishing, camping, or simply building a fire under the open sky. An avid reader, she also enjoyed the quiet moments of life, lost in the pages of a good book. Christi's love for sports was evident as she cheered on her favorite football and baseball teams, sharing these moments with friends and family.

Christi's life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity, the strength of perseverance, and the enduring power of love. Her laughter, her courage, and her unwavering spirit will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved her. Christi's journey through life was a beacon of light, guiding us all to live with kindness, passion, and an unrelenting zest for life.

Visitation for Christi will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, OK. A service celebrating her life will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK. The service will be officiated by Rev. Brody Morris.
