Donald Bowman Obituary

Donald Ray "Don" Bowman, aged 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, in Coweta, Oklahoma, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and jovial spirit. He was born in Altus, Arkansas on May 29, 1950, to James Washington "JW" and Nona Fay Bowman. Don was a man of integrity and warmth who lived his life with a welcoming smile and a helping hand.

Don had the heart of a true family man. On September 24, 1971, in Ozark, Arkansas, he married the love of his life, Helen Faye Biggs, known affectionately as Faye. Their union was blessed with two children, a son, Donnie "Don Don" Bowman of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a daughter, Tina Bellamy, along with her husband Scott, of Collinsville, Oklahoma. As a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Don cherished the time he spent with his 10 grandchildren; Brandon Bowman, Brent Bowman (Kayla), Sara McGuire (Bobby), Hanna Bowman, Tessa Medina, Cassidy Riley, Donovan Bowman, Rin Bellamy, Emma Bellamy, and Madison Bellamy and 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom added immense joy to his life.

Throughout his life, Don was supported and loved by his family. Along with his beloved wife and children, he is survived by three sisters, Shirley Reed, with her husband Bill, of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Darlene "Edna" Bowman, and Rhonda Cavero, both of Van Buren, Arkansas. His extended family of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends will remember Don's larger-than-life presence and the deep-rooted connections he forged with all those around him.

Don's warmth extended well beyond his family circle. After graduating from Ozark High School in Arkansas, he committed 33 years as a dedicated forklift operator at Green Bay Packaging. He was a pillar in his local church, Oneta Holiness Church, and anchored his life in faith and fellowship. His hobbies included fishing and rabbit hunting, pursuits that not only brought him closer to nature but also provided countless stories and laughter shared with loved ones. Sightseeing was another of Don's joys, a testament to his love for adventure and the simple beauty of the world around him.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters. His passing marks not an end but a celebration of a life with love, devout faith, and enduring relationships. As we bid farewell to Don Bowman, we honor a life well-lived, and a man deeply loved. His memory will be treasured forever in our hearts.
