Edna Louise Carver

Edna Louise Carver, age 92, of Coweta, OK went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, April 27, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK with her family by her side. Edna was born on November 15, 1930 to Elzie and Fannie (Jackson) Gilbert in Coweta, OK. She married Ronald Dean Carver on May 3, 1947 in Van Buren, AR. Edna was a devoted homemaker for most of her life, however worked a few public jobs, i.e.; Dairy Boy in Coweta, Borden's Cafeteria and Seismograph in Tulsa and Mobile International in Broken Arrow. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy for many years and enjoyed her flowers, sewing, crocheting, and doll collecting, but mostly spending time with her children and grandchildren was her passion. 

Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Dean Carver of almost 70 years, her parents, Elzie and Fannie Gilbert, one son, Darrel Lee Carver, one grandson, Cody Montana Carver, one daughter-in-law, Marlene Carver, one brother, Edgar Elzie Gilbert, and one sister, Shirley Bogle.

Edna is survived by her sons, Ronnie Carver and  Darren Carver and wife Sherry; one daughter, Sharon Steeley and husband Wayne, all of Coweta, OK; five sisters, Loreva Baker, Eloise Smith, Barbara Tuthill (Les) all of Coweta, OK, and Darla Simpson of Cedar Rapids, IA; two brothers, Kenny Gilbert of Greybull, WY and Gary Gilbert (Kathy) of Las Vegas, NV; eleven grandchildren, Lorrie Moon (Rob), Eddie Carver (Stephanie), Jeff Carver (Sharon), Randy Poindexter, Stephanie Samples, Lee Carver (Tonya), Jake Carver (Emma), Kerri Hudson (Jordan), Cameron Arnold, Brandon Arnold, and Brittney Ross (Kalen); 24 great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, May 1, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, OK. Services celebrating Edna’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at the Coweta Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta, OK with Pastor Larry Brown and Pastor Larry Duncan officiating. Edna will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK.
