Etta A. Jones

Etta A. Jones, age 89, resident of Coweta, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Etta was born on September 18, 1932 in Inola, Oklahoma to Jeffie Goodlow and Eunice Graphy (Dooly) Harvey.  She attended and graduated from Boynton High School.  Etta married the love of her life, Olen Gene Jones on October 23, 1954.  She was a faithful member of the Shahan Free Will Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Etta was a loving caregiver and enjoyed taking care of others.  She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and canning.    

Etta is survived by her three children, Darrell Jones, of Peggs, Oklahoma, Jimmie Jones and his wife Shelley of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Yolanda Wakefield and her husband Raymond of Coweta, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Jeff Jones and his wife Angie, Frank Jones, Sharay Harvey and her husband Blake, and Brittany Long; seven great grandchildren; her sister, Opal “Sunny” Stephens of Coweta, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. 

Etta was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Gene Jones, her parents, Jeffie Goodlow and Eunice Graphy Harvey, four brothers, and two sisters. 

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Services celebrating Etta’s life will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Shahan Free Will Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Lynn Moss officiating.  Etta will be laid to rest at Shahan Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
