Faye A. Runnels

Faye A. Runnels, age 85, longtime Coweta resident went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday afternoon, May 16, 2022 at the Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Faye was born on September 12, 1936 on the Replogle farm in the Verdigris Bottoms in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to George Dewey “Dude” and Hester (Cobb) Replogle.  She attended Sunnyside and Progressive schools in Broken Arrow.  Faye married John Runnels, Jr. on June 23, 1977.  She worked at Warehouse Market in Broken Arrow for 22 years until she retired at the age of 80.  Faye was a devoted member of the Coweta Assembly.  She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister who loved her family and enjoyed family get togethers.  Faye also enjoyed cooking, going to Branson, Missouri, and she loved holidays with her family.  She loved people and truly never met a stranger.

Faye is survived by her husband, John Runnels, Jr. of the home in Coweta, Oklahoma; four children, Roy Ward and his wife Nancy of Coweta, Oklahoma, Sandy Wheat and her husband Mike of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Leanna Runnels of Catoosa, Oklahoma, and Johnny Runnels of Coweta, Oklahoma; one brother, Russell Replogle and his wife Dolly of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Lucas Ward and his wife Jyme, Austin Ward, Gina Whitewater and her husband Terry, Lonnie Ray Runnels and his wife Amanda, Terry Runnels and his wife Kyla, Chad Runnels, Natalie Phillips and her husband David, Jonathan Shepherd, and Jerry Ray Shepherd; seven great grandchildren, Spencer Ward, Justin Shepherd, Katherine Shepherd, Wyatt Runnels, Lane Runnels, Kimber Runnels, and Abby Phillips; her daughter-in-law, Joyce Runnels of Coweta, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Dude and Hester Replogle; her son, Lonnie Runnels; her brothers, Walter Replogle, Truman Replogle, Shorty Replogle, and Orville Ray Replogle; her sisters, Pauline Edwards, Velma Hash, Dorothy Hash, and Violet Pearson; and her son-in-law, Tom Whitewater.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Services celebrating Faye’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Coweta Assembly in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Steve Lee officiating.  Faye will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers are Lonnie Ray Runnels, Terry Runnels, Chad Runnels, Austin Ward, Lucas Ward, and Spencer Ward.  Honorary Pallbearers are Shorty Chance, Leroy Ward, Allen Ward, Terry Whitewater, David Phillips, and Chris Kelly.
