George Diedrick Miller, Jr.

George Diedrick Miller, Jr., age 81, resident of Owasso went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday evening, June 13, 2020 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK.  George was born on February 18, 1939 in Seymour, IN and was the son of George Diedrick Miller, Sr. and Harriet (Brackemyre) Miller.  He was raised and graduated from high school in Seymour, IN.  George was a proud veteran of the United States Army.  He met the love of his life, Janeth LaRene Sain in Germany and they were married on December 30, 1960 in Indiana.  He was a member of Eagle Heights Church in Oklahoma City, OK and also attended the First United Methodist Church in Coweta.  George was a firefighter for the City of Oklahoma City for 20 years until he retired in 1987.  He enjoyed square dancing with his wife, traveling, and he loved spending time with his family.  George was a Mason and a member of the India Temple Shrine in Oklahoma City.

George is survived by his three sons, Curtis Miller and wife Sharon of Jenks, OK, Rev. John Miller and wife Monica of Owasso, OK, and Diedrick Miller of Bethany, OK; three grandchildren, Sarah Miller, Donovan Miller, and Katelyn Miller; two sisters, Dena Demaree and husband David of Danville, KY and Julianne Ratliff and husband Rick of Seymour, IN; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

George was preceded in death by his wife, Janeth LaRene Miller; his parents, George Diedrick Miller, Sr. and Harriet Miller; and one sister, Madeline Priscoe.

A memorial service celebrating George’s life will be on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church in Coweta, OK at 11:00 AM.  Another memorial service will be on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Eagle Heights Church in Oklahoma City, OK at 2:00 PM.
