Gregory Thomas "Greg" Cantrell

Gregory Thomas “Greg” Cantrell, age 66, resident of Coweta went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, April 10, 2021 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Greg was born on December 31, 1954 in Maywood, California and was the son of L.D. and Katherine May (Jensen) Cantrell.  He attended school in Paramount, California.  He worked at TMK Ipsco Tubulars Inc. in Catoosa, Oklahoma as a Quality Control Manager until he retired.

Greg enjoyed music, playing cards, board games, golfing, and fishing.  His hobbies were stamp collecting and sight-seeing.  He loved exploring different lakes, rivers and historical towns of Oklahoma and other states.  But the thing that was most enjoyable to Greg was watching and attending all the different sporting events of his children and grandchildren.  He also enjoyed helping people in need.  Greg drove the church van for his church in Weleetka, Oklahoma and worked with the youth ministry where he helped many youth come to know the Lord and be saved.

Greg is survived by two children, Richard Cantrell and wife Tonia of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and DeeAnn Cantrell of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Trenton Cantrell and wife Madison of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Trevor Cantrell of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Nathaniel Bear of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Livia Cantrell of Okmulgee, OK, and Faith Jestice of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; one brother, Keith Cantrell of Coweta, Oklahoma; two sisters, Shirleen Larson of Coweta, Oklahoma and Linda Kline and husband Bill of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. and Katherine Cantrell and one sister, Wanda Smith.

Viewing will be from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta.  Services celebrating Greg’s life will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Lone Star Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma with Rev. Sam Davis officiating.  The service will be livestreamed at https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/52165.  Greg will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers are Trenton Cantrell, Trevor Cantrell, Nathaniel Bear, Bill Montgomery, Bobby Montgomery, and Tim Carter.
