Helen Louise Conner

Helen Louise Conner, age 92, lifelong resident of Broken Arrow went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday morning, September 16, 2022 at her home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  Helen was born on January 6, 1930 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Peeler “Pete” and Zelma (Pennington) Cantrell.  She received her education in Broken Arrow schools.  Helen married Henry Vernon “H.V.” Conner on March 25,1948 in Coweta, Oklahoma.  She worked at Ajax Die Casting for 12 years and was also a devoted homemaker who loved caring for her family.  She was a member of Broken Arrow Church of the Nazarene.  Helen enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, quilting, traveling, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

 Helen is survived by her children, Gary Leon Conner and wife Sue of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Sandra Gail Byrd of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Cheryl Conner Flusche and husband Marty of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her brother, James Cantrell of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Matt Byrd and wife Patty, Heather Hensinger and husband Matt, Elizabeth Flusche, Mary Flusche, Lee Conner and wife Katherine, Cory Conner and wife Nicole, and Lauren Morgan and husband Trevor; eleven great grandchildren, Meredith, Blayze, Celeste, Logan, Sophia, Audrey, Clary, Hadley, Easton, Emmitt, and Hayes; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, H.V. Conner, her parents, Peeler “Pete” and Zelma Cantrell, her sisters, Mina Gilbert-Denton and Glenda McCollaum, her brother, L.D. Cantrell, and her son-in-law, Michael Russell Byrd.

Services celebrating Helen’s life will be 10:00 AM on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Broken Arrow Church of the Nazarene in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with Pastor Doug Dawson and Pastor Scott Moore officiating.  Helen will be laid to rest next to her husband, H.V. at Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers are Matt Byrd, Lee Conner, Cory Conner, Trevor Morgan, Derek Edwards, and Jasper Cantrell.
