Jayla Barnes Obituary

God sent an amazing, beautiful baby girl to Tialesha Barnes and David Reed on May 20, 1999. They named her Jayla LaShay. Jayla was the third of four children.

She attended and graduated from Coweta Public Schools where she was a social butterfly, good student, and loved hanging out with her friends.

At a youthful age, Jayla worked for McDonalds. She then worked for Oxford Home Health where she was a loving caretaker with all of her clients. She started a friendship with A’Rrick Moore in middle school. They were only apart for a brief time as the spark rekindled after high school and it was then a forever love. Their first son, Akylan their love and heartbeat was born on January 12, 2021.

Jayla was loving, quiet, and caring. She enjoyed giving parties where she loved to entertain and cook for family and friends. She was very artistic at designing t-shirts and other attire for many.

Jayla and her family lived in Tulsa, but was a frequent visitor to Coweta where she shared quality time with her mother, grandmoma (as she called her grandmother Sherl), siblings, and family. Her smile and genuine care for others was authentic and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

On January 17, 2022, Jayla transitioned to her new Heavenly home. She leaves to honor and cherish her memory, A’Rrick Moore and son Akylan of the home; her mother, Tialesha Barnes and Antonio Miller of Coweta, Oklahoma; her father David Reed of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her grandmother, Sherl Barnes of Haskell, Oklahoma; her grandfather, Curtis Barnes of Coweta, Oklahoma; her grandmother, Kathy Reed of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her sister, Mikel of Coweta, Oklahoma; her two brothers, David of Coweta, Oklahoma and Cody (Alexis) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and her uncles, Curtis Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Brandon of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She also leaves a host of family and friends that will hold her close in heart eternally.
