Jeffrey "Jeff" D. Thomas

Jeffrey “Jeff” Doyle Thomas, age 62, longtime resident of Porter, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Jeff was born on September 9, 1959 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Carrell Lawrence and Alma Florence (Dobbins) Thomas.  He was a 1977 graduate of Porter High School.  Jeff married Renee Cox in December 1980 and together they had two children, Susan Renee Thomas and Shawn Jeffrey Thomas and they separated in 2009.  He then married Dana Lea Hogan on July 23, 2011.  Jeff worked as an electrician at Dresser-Rand for over 20 years.  He then was the Porter Schools Transportation Director from 2000 until he retired in 2011.  Jeff was a member of the First Baptist Church in Porter.  He enjoyed riding, fixing, and selling motorcycles, living in the country, traveling, coaching his children’s sports when they were younger, and in his earlier years he enjoyed participating in tractor pulls with his father and brother.  He also had a great passion for animals.  Jeff loved his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Dana Thomas of the home in Porter, Oklahoma; two children, Susan Renee (Thomas) Cox of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Shawn Jeffrey Thomas of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two step-children, Casey Fransisco of Fort Worth, Texas and Jenna Fransisco of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Mackenzie Collins and Gabrielle Collins; two step-grandchildren, Dean Fransisco and Luke Fransisco; his sister-in-law, Sherry Thomas of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Carrell Lawrence and Alma Florence Thomas; his brother, Phillip “Phil” Lawrence Thomas; and his step-daughter, Amanda Fransisco.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma with the family present from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.  Services celebrating Jeff’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma with Dr. Vern Charette officiating.  Jeff will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Pallbearers are Shawn Thomas, Casey Fransisco, Shawn Sheridan, Danny Robertson, Frank Dobbins, and Justin Miller.  Honorary Pallbearers are Mark Hogan, Sam Plunk, and Dwight Thomas.
