Joe David Seelig

Joe David Seelig, age 79, resident of Broken Arrow entered into the Gates of Heaven on Thursday afternoon, January 19, 2023 at Cedarcrest Care Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  Joe was born on March 2, 1943 in Drumright, Oklahoma to Ray Jansing and Zeta Vern (Trisdale) Seelig.  He was a graduate of Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Joe then attended Oklahoma University and Midwest Christian College where he received a Masters degree.  He was a minister for most of his life.  Joe’s real passion was his love for the Lord and studying the Bible.

Joe is survived by his wife of 60 years, Billie Seelig; his son, Tim Seelig and his wife Chris of Owasso, Oklahoma; his daughters, Kelle Bishop and her husband Jeffrey of Edmond, Oklahoma and Shannon Swartwood and her husband Owen of Coweta, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Logan Seelig, Jamie Vale and her husband Jonathan, Shelby O’Neal and her husband Zach, Savannah Swartwood, and Eli Swartwood; five great grandchildren, Aberdeen, Swaley, Iron, Leif, and Wylie Vale; and numerous other relatives.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Jansing and Zeta Vern Seelig.

A private family service will be held for Joe.
