Johnny Edward Runnels

Johnny Edward Runnels, age 64, longtime Coweta resident went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, September 17, 2022 at his home in Coweta, Oklahoma surrounded by his family.  Johnny was born on June 8, 1958 in Dinuba, California to John Junior Runnels and Claudia Ann Davis.  He attended Coweta High School than began his love of farming and gardening.  In 2000, he started Runnels Produce and began selling all his veggies to the public.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Johnny is survived by his daughter, Natalie Ann Phillips and husband David of Coweta, Oklahoma; his father, John Runnels, Jr. of Coweta, Oklahoma; his granddaughter, Abby Phillips of Coweta, Oklahoma; his sisters, Ruth Leanna (Runnels) Shepherd of Catoosa, Oklahoma and Sandy Wheat and husband Mike of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his brother, Roy Ward and wife Nancy of Coweta, Oklahoma; his sister-in-law, Joyce Runnels; his nieces and nephews, Lonny and Amanda Runnels of Porter, Oklahoma, Terry and Kayla Runnels of Coweta, Oklahoma, Chad Runnels of Coweta, Oklahoma, Jonathon and Jessica Shepherd of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Jerry Ray Shepherd of Catoosa, Oklahoma; his great nephews, Wyatt Runnels, Lane Runnels, and Justin Shephard; his great nieces, Kimber Jo Runnels and Katherine Shephard; and numerous other family and friends.

Johnny was preceded in death by his mother, Claudia Ann Davis, his stepmother, Faye Runnels, his brother, Lonnie Ray Runnels, Sr., and two grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating Johnny’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Coweta Assembly in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Steve Lee officiating.
